About this service

13YARN is the first national crisis support line specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is operated by Lifeline in partnership with Gayaa Dhuwi (Proud Spirit) Australia and staffed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander crisis supporters. Available 24/7. Free, confidential, and culturally safe.

Any moment of distress. Concerned about someone close to you.

When not to use

Pure financial counselling — SBDH or NDH.

Who they help

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in distress and their families.

Who they don't help

Not a financial or business adviser. After the immediate crisis, route to SBDH or NewAccess.

Financial capability support is provided by Financial Capability Workers — distinct from financial counselling, with no credit advice or creditor negotiation. We also provide crisis triage, practical support, and referral coordination. We do not provide AFSL-licensed financial product advice, legal advice, or insolvency advice. Where specialist support is needed, we connect people to qualified professionals.
