Clear help, clear responsibility. Every participant signs onto these terms when receiving TEKVA support.
It requires honesty, accountability, and progress.
Where TEKVA pays, we pay landlords, utilities, and providers directly. Some support — financial counselling, AI upskilling, free tools — isn't a payment.
Reviewed regularly and has clear endpoints.
When you're back on your feet, contribute however you can — financially, through volunteering, or by mentoring others.
Scope of support
TEKVA provides crisis triage, practical support, referral coordination, and financial counselling.
Financial counselling is delivered by FCAN-registered Financial Counsellors. Financial capability support — budgeting, planning, capability building — is provided by Financial Capability Workers. Capability work is distinct from financial counselling and does not include credit advice or creditor negotiation.
We do not provide AFSL-licensed financial product advice, legal advice, or insolvency advice.
Where specialist support is needed beyond TEKVA's scope, we connect participants to qualified professionals including additional registered Financial Counsellors, practising solicitors, registered tax agents, and registered insolvency practitioners.
Any information provided by TEKVA — including through our online tools — is general in nature and does not constitute professional advice. Participants are responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice for their specific circumstances.
What we ask of participants
Tell us when something changes — your circumstances, your income, your situation. We can only help with what we know about.
We don't expect perfection. We do expect you to take the agreed next steps when you're able.
Engage with the process — assessments, conversations, paperwork. We work with you, not around you.
Where we've agreed on a plan, hold to it. If it's not working, tell us so we can adjust.
Your situation, your decisions. Our role is to support — not to take over. The work is shared.
Types of Support
Help with immediate pressure — hardship letters, sequencing what to deal with first, vendor engagement, escalation paths.
Provided by FCAN-registered Financial Counsellors. Understanding debts, options, and priorities. Plus financial capability support from Financial Capability Workers.
Practical AI coaching for job search, work, business, and admin. Plus free public tools that anyone can use.
Limited financial support, vendor-direct where workable, only where it'll change the trajectory.
Reviews & Breach
Support is reviewed monthly or quarterly depending on type.
